Structures for Survival
Animals (including humans) have special body parts (structures), physical characteristics, and/or behaviors that help them survive and grow in their environment. Animals use unique body parts for seeing, hearing, grasping objects, obtaining food and other resources, protecting themselves, and moving from place to place. Some animals exhibit certain behaviors such migration that allow them to get food when food is scarce. Other animals use camouflage for protection. View the slide show below to learn about how animals use their unique structures, physical characteristics, and/or behaviors to survive in their environments.
